Business Success
Whilst this is the period of best short term stress, it is an acute situation. The second problem, and one of much more long term importance is the issue of those that remain. texas auto insurance
We’re going to chat about the long run issues here.
In the 1st few weeks after downsizing even those that still have roles will feel lots of hard things. This is applicable to you as the leader of your organization.
However, as a business leader you’ve got a significant role to play in helping workers get past the primary reactions. In this time, it’s important that you don’t pressure employees unduly, either in the areas of skyrocketing productivity, or in expressing feelings about the change. Your job is to help by carefully chatting to them, both in group settings and individually about their reactions, and how it’s possible for you to help. Your capability to guide folk thru the difficult times will rely on your own physical and emotional health. The original shock of downsizing is probably going to linger for a period of time, actually for at least the 2 weeks discussed. At some point there’s a need to get on with it, to normalize the situation.
Too early and you divide and hate staff too late and you finish up wallowing. It’s best to start normalizing slowly and softly. It’s about HOW you disagree, fight or disagree, if at home or at work. It’s important the chaos be reduced.
